PROFILE

SPOT- spaces of transformation is a collaborative practice for architecture and urbanism operating at the intersection of research, design and urban transformation. Founded by Ina-Marie Kapitola SPOT explores new spatial strategies for productive, climate-conscious and socially inclusive neighborhoods.
With a research-driven and interdisciplinary approach the practice integrates urban analysis, experimental design methods and strategic planning to address contemporary urban challenges across various scales. Key themes include vertical mixed-use development, circular economy principles and new models of collective living—always with a focus on critical care and the social as well as ecological responsibilities of architecture. By engaging in cross-sector collaborations and site-specific interventions, SPOT seeks to strengthen agency in urban development, empowering communities and fostering new forms of spatial production. The work spans from design proposals and urban studies to research projects and policy recommendations— always questioning, reinterpreting and transforming the built environment.
